Import, archive export, and data portability

Import customer records from CSV and export supported operational records to a ZIP archive. Coverage depends on record type.

  • Map your customer CSV columns, review validation results, and correct errors before importing.
  • Export supported operational records to a ZIP archive. Coverage depends on record type.
  • Commercial export includes Deposit Requests, commercial payments, how collected deposits were applied, and invoice balances that already account for those deposits.
  • Document and photo files are not included in the export archive.
  • Use self-service export when available; contact Zwivio support if you need help with a large migration.

Prepare and upload customer data

  • Open Business → Data import and choose Download CSV template. This importer creates customer contact and address records, not jobs, equipment, or historical financial transactions.
  • Prepare your CSV with a display name and the available email, phone, and address columns. Choose CSV file to upload it.
  • In Map columns, connect each CSV column to the matching customer field. Check the preview before continuing.
  • Choose Validate import and review valid rows, errors, duplicate results, and warnings. Use Back to mapping to correct a mapping, or Download errors CSV to help fix the source file.
  • Choose Import customers to apply valid rows, then review the result and use View customers. Fix and re-upload remaining rows as needed rather than assuming every uploaded row was imported.

Strong duplicates identified by phone or email are skipped; weaker matches appear as warnings. Import does not merge existing customer records. Text consent is not imported, so imported contact details do not automatically subscribe customers to Customer Text Updates.

Download an operational archive

Open Business → Data export, review the available work-source filter, and choose Download export ZIP to obtain a ZIP archive. Keep the downloaded archive in a secure location; it contains business and customer information.

The archive includes supported customer, location, equipment, managed-job, Service Record, Quote and line-item, Invoice and line-item, follow-up, Deposit Request, commercial payment, and deposit-application data. Review the dataset scope when using a work-source filter: it is not a claim that every exported file is filtered identically.

Use the CSV datasets for business review or migration planning. Attachment and photo file contents are not included. The download is a point-in-time operational export, not an automatic backup service or third-party synchronization.

Where to find it: Open Business → Data import for customer CSV import and Business → Data export for an operational archive.
